PortaScreen Portable Testing Screen

The Porta-Screen® is a trusted solution for fast, accurate separation of construction aggregates and other materials in lab and field environments. Designed for both performance and portability, the Porta-Screen is optimized for particle separations from 2in (50.8mm) down to No.16 (1.18mm), but is also capable of handling finer materials to No.200 (75μm) when needed.

Engineered for tough jobs yet light enough to move easily, the Porta-Screen offers versatile performance for quality control testing of aggregates, soils, and a variety of other materials. Depending on the sample characteristics, the machine can accommodate test loads of up to 60lb (27.3kg) per run.

The rugged 1/2hp motor, drive system, and rotating counterbalance are fully enclosed in a durable enameled steel case, providing smooth, mechanically balanced operation without the need for mounting. The vibrating assembly rides on hardened guide pins for long service life, while the three support legs feature easy foot-tab adjustments and a built-in leveling bubble to ensure stability and accurate operation on any surface.

A built-in electronic digital timer with a bright LED display and audible alarm makes testing simple and repeatable. The timer runs up to 99 minutes, 59 seconds, automatically resets to the programmed time, and features a pause function to allow interruptions without losing track of testing progress. Models are available for either 115V/60Hz or 230V/50Hz power requirements.

Screen trays are sold separately and feature a 14x14in (356x356mm) clear screen area. Dual hand-clamp levers securely lock trays in place during operation and allow for quick removal between tests for emptying, cleaning, and weighing. For enhanced durability and performance:

• Trays with No.4 and coarser cloth feature perimeter shields for full coverage.
• Trays with No.16 to No.80 mesh sizes are reinforced with three support ribs.
• Trays with No.100 and finer mesh include a backup cloth for added strength.
• Replaceable stainless steel mesh is available for all screen sizes, providing a cost-effective and long-lasting solution for high-use labs.
