Availability: In stock

The Los Angeles abrasion machine is used to measure the degradation of mineral aggregate of standard gradings resulting from a combination of actions, including abrasion or attrition, impact, and grinding in a rotating steel drum containing a specified number of steel spheres. The test is widely used as an indicator of the relative quality of various sources of aggregate having similar mineral compositions. The Los Angeles Abrasion Machine tests crushed rock, slag and gravel samples for resistance to abrasion by rotating a sample of aggregate material with steel charges for a specified period of time.

The LA Abrasion Machine features a welded, heavy-duty design and is manufactured for easy retrofit of our Quiet Roll sound baffle. Heavy-duty steel drum assembly is rotated by a 1 hp totally enclosed motor assembly for safety. 110 V/60 Hz 1 Ph, 15 A electrical requirement.

Drum is counterbalanced to maintain uniform peripheral speed and is equipped with slip clutch coupling that relieves starting stress on the gear drive and motor. The drum revolves at 33 rpm. Dimensions are 43.5 x 35 x 31.5 in WHD (110.5 x 89 x 80 cm).

Automatic pre-set digital counter turns off the motor after drum has completed the number of revolutions set by the operator. Comes complete with material catch pan and set of 12 standard abrasion charges.

Alternate electrical voltages are available.
