Hot Mix Design
Hot-mix design involves choosing the aggregate you’ll use in your asphalt and which type of asphalt binder you’ll need, then combining these materials in an ideal manner. If you want to perform hot-mix design simulations in your laboratory, you’ll need the appropriate asphalt extraction and Ploog filterless centrifuge products and accessories. Forney has a vast selection of tools to help you perform hot-mix design and testing processes.
We offer four different models of asphalt extraction and Ploog filterless centrifuges, ranging from 100-gram to 400-gram capacities. Asphalt extraction tests are easy to perform with these machines, as they recover fine aggregate materials from a sample by using a rotating spindle. We also sell spare aluminum beakers for our filterless centrifuge devices.
In addition, we also have six versions of the explosion-proof centrifuge extractor device, available in either 1,500-gram or 3,000-gram sizes. With either size, you can choose from analog or digital versions and opt for either a 220-volt or 115-volt motor. We also carry three models of our open-motor centrifuge extractor: a 3,000-gram analog version, a 1,500-gram analog device, and a 1,500-gram digital machine.
If you’re seeking a low-cost solution for the hot-mix design testing process, look no further than our reflux extractor sets, which include two wire-screen cones, a copper condenser with inlet and outlet water tubes, a glass jar, an electric hot plate, and a package of 100 filter papers. Of course, we also sell every accessory you could possibly need for these devices!
