Retainer Rings

Retainer Rings
Steel Retainer Rings and Pad Caps are placed on the top and bottom ends of test cylinders to form a surface perpendicular to the direction of force from the compression machine. Each set of FORNEY Retainer Rings comes supplied with two Pad Caps. (Retainer Rings bought individually come with one Pad Cap). You don't need to buy anything else. More about Pad Caps It is very important for the flat surface of the Retainer Ring to have full surface contact with the lower and upper platens of the testing machine. Retainer Rings' bearing surface is planed to within .002 in/.05 mm. Retainer Rings are machined from cast steel. An air relief hole (1/16 in [1.6 mm] diameter) is drilled through the center of the ring. Note: The platen should be of a size that allows no more than 5/8 in daylight between the cylinder and the platen surface.
