If your freshly poured concrete experiences temperatures that are too hot or too cold, your concrete might lose strength or even start cracking. Simply take a sample of your concrete mix and place an outdoor mercury thermometer into it, making sure you keep the thermometer several inches away from the sides of your testing container.
