Physical Tests

If you want to analyze the level of strain in concrete, you’ll need to use strain gauges. A strain gauge test involves placing strain gauges on the concrete. These gauges have a tensioned wire running between flanges on either end. Electromagnets vibrate the wire, and you can take a strain gauge measurement based on how much vibration occurs.

At Forney, we have a complete collection of products for strain gauge applications, including the strain gauges themselves and several accessory items. We offer top-quality analog and digital strain gauges. When it comes to strain gauge accessories, Forney has many different options. You can buy punch bars to mark locations for brass inserts, hardened steel contact points to help measure strain on a dial indicator, contact seats to mount in your strain gauge frame, and brass inserts for mounting contact seats.
