Sand Cone Apparatus

Used to determine in-place density of soils. Unit consists of a one-gallon plastic threaded jar and detachable brass cone. Cone has a 1/2 in diameter orifice and a cylindrical valve with built-in stops to prevent rotation past completely open or completely closed. The cone's 6-1/2 in (165.1mm) diameter flanged opening fits the opening of the 12 x 12 in (304.8 x 304.8mm) density plate. Density plate and density sand sold separately.
