Slump

If you want to measure how consistent your fresh concrete is before it has a chance to set, you will need to perform a concrete slump test. This allows you to gauge how easily the fresh concrete will flow, and it will also indicate if your batch of concrete was correctly mixed. As long as you use the proper concrete slump test equipment, the process is quite simple.

At Forney, we have everything you need to perform concrete slump tests at your job site. We offer a variety of metal slump cones with rust-resistant plates and welded handles and feet for easy transport. We also sell plastic slump cones that are an inexpensive, lightweight alternative to metal slump cones. If you need concrete slump test equipment accessories, like portable polyethylene slump bases or slump cone funnels, we have those too.

Two of our most popular concrete slump test equipment items are our slump cone test sets, which include everything you need to conduct concrete slump tests. Our laboratory kit consists of a metal slump cone, a tamping rod, a material pan, a brush, and a trowel. Meanwhile, the field kit includes a slump cone, tamping rod, aluminum base plate, and 16-foot tape measure.

If you’re looking for a concrete slump test that vibrates the concrete after you remove it from the slump cone, you might be interested in our Vebe Consistometer machine. This device determines the consistency and workability of concrete based on how long it takes for the concrete to recompact.
