Self-contained unit performs expansion tests of cured soil specimens. Specimen is placed in unit with air-dried porous stones and loaded with a stainless steel weight for 10 minutes, then immersed in distilled water for 24 hours. Height is recorded to determine maximum swell.
Unit comes with anodized aluminum base and collar with stainless steel hold-down rods, stainless steel specimen ring 4 in ID x 1 in high (101.6 x 25.4 mm), 12.6 lb (5.7 kg) stainless steel loading weight and porous stones 3.990 inch diameter x 0.5 in thick (101.3 x 12.5 mm).
Required dial indicator sold separately.
Meets ASTM D4829, CALIFORNIA UBC 29-2, EN 933-8.
