Rapid Chloride Permeability Apparatus, Eight Cell Model

The Proove’ it Rapid Chloride Permeability Tester is a reliable device designed for assessing the chloride permeability of concrete. This simple test, known as the Rapid Chloride Permeability Test (RCPT), is conducted on concrete samples obtained from cores or test cylinders.

During the test, an electrical current is passed through a specimen placed in a test cell with fluid reservoirs at each end. One end is immersed in a 3% sodium chloride solution, while the other is in a 0.3N sodium hydroxide solution. A 60V DC potential is applied across the specimen for six hours. The higher the permeability of the concrete, the greater the total charge or Coulombs passed through the specimen.  

The tester comes equipped with a microprocessor power supply module that can deliver precisely controlled voltage to up to eight RCPT specimens simultaneously. A Windows®-based software on the user’s PC manages test parameters, stores data, and generates professional reports that can be customized with a company logo. Current readings are updated every five seconds, and a predicted six-hour Coulomb value is produced every five minutes. Test results can be exported to Excel for in-depth statistical analysis. The software, power cord, serial cable, and manual are all included, and testing time and parameters can be adjusted as needed.
