The Coarse Void Content Apparatus is a scaled up version of the apparatus used for evaluation of fine aggregates. Void content provides an indication of angularity, sphericity, and surface texture compared to other aggregates of the same gradation. Recommended for evaluation of coarse aggregates for hot mixed asphalt pavement. The apparatus consists of hopper, stand, measure, strike-off bar, and glass plate for calibration of the measure.
Meets AASHTO TP56, EN 933-8.
